September beach walk

Round the back of Bede’s School right before the esplanade ends and the road winds up Dukes Drive, there’s a path leading to some steps down onto the beach. There’s a name for this place but I haven’t learnt it yet. On a walk the other day we got there about an hour after high water, so we were able to make it onto the beach between waves…

From there it’s a short clamber over rocks to get to the beach and the cafe at Holywell.

There’s a lot of cliff erosion round here, big chunks of chalk seem to come down quite regularly.
